Privacy Policy
This is a static personal portfolio site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no web fonts, embeds nothing from third parties, and has no forms. The whole site is plain HTML and CSS served from GitHub Pages.
What the host sees
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). When you load a page, GitHub's servers receive the request and may log standard technical data — IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamp — to operate the service and protect against abuse. I do not run analytics on top of this and I do not receive these logs. GitHub processes this data under its own privacy statement. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a website).
Contact by email
The site lists my address as a mailto: link — contact@christianfillies.com. There is no contact form. If you write to me, I'll see what you sent and reply. I keep the correspondence only as long as it takes to handle the enquiry and any follow-up. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
Outbound links
The site links out to my GitHub and LinkedIn profiles. Nothing from those services is embedded or preloaded — they only load if you click. Their data practices are their own.
Theme preference
If you use the light/dark toggle in the top corner, your choice is saved as a single entry in your browser's localStorage (key cf-theme, value light or dark). It is read on every page load to keep your choice across navigation, never transmitted to a server, and never read by anyone but the page itself. You can clear it any time from your browser's site-data settings. No consent banner is shown because the entry is strictly necessary to remember a preference you set yourself — the same exemption that covers a language choice or a shopping basket. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; § 25 (2) Nr. 2 TTDSG.
What's not happening
- No cookies, first- or third-party.
- No analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or A/B testing.
- No web fonts — the site uses your operating system's font stack.
- No social embeds, share widgets, or comment platforms.
- No advertising.
- No automated decision-making or profiling.
Your rights under GDPR
You can request confirmation, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing — and you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In practice, the only data I might hold about you is email you sent me yourself. Reach me at the address below.
